About Us

Over the past fifteen years we have worked with a number of artists, communities, institutions, municipalities, corporations and arts organizations on a multiple range of social engagement arts projects that focused primarily on building bridges and healing in the community through the arts. We have collaborated with a network of community artists that we fostered through an arts incubator we co-founded in 2012—3rd Space Art Gallery/Research Incubator. A recent example of this type of collaboration is the Pearl Brewery large scale print suite "The River Print Suite" and permanent sculpture installation project at the Oxbow Tower on Broadway

Luis Valderas

Luis Valderas

COO

Luis Valderas is a multi-disciplinary artist from the South Texas frontera, his artistic process is deeply influenced by his upbringing and experience working in a family-owned flower and ceramic shop. This background provided hands-on exposure to all aspects of fabrication, production, and distribution, fostering a flexible approach to utilizing various mediums to meet creative needs. His work draws inspiration from Mesoamerican mythology intertwined with science fiction, outer space, and ancestral stories. By transforming icons, he explores connections across the past, present, and future—sometimes obvious, sometimes ambiguous. His creations are designed to inhabit a "third space" of reality, where anything is possible.
